Indian Plumbing Conference (IPC) is the national conference of plumbing fraternity organised by the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) and held at different cities in India.
22 nd IPC was held in Milan Mela in the City of Joy Kolkata, on November 25 and 26, 2016. It was attended by all stake holders in the construction industry – Developers, Architects, Consultants, Contractors, Manufacturers, Dealers and End Users.
West Bengal is the fourth largest economy in India and is the heart of its eastern region. West Bengal borders Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal is a Mega City and the oldest metropolis in India. It was the seat of power and the commercial hub of the English East India Company and later the British Indian Colony. With the influx of people and commerce, massive urban development has been taking place in the state in general and Kolkata metropolitan region in particular. Growth in manufacturing, export, trade & industry and educational infrastructure, causing boom in the real estate market was one of the reasons for IPA for conducting the 22 nd IPC in Kolkata.
Considering the size and scope of the buildings being constructed in India and the people living & working in them, attention to sustainability and maintenance of good health and wellbeing are being given due importance. Keeping with this need, ‘Sustainable Plumbing for a Healthy Society’ was chosen as the theme of the conference. Domain experts, from India and abroad presented technical papers and participated in panel discussions.
A concurrent exhibition was also be held to display and demonstrate modern, innovative products & technologies for sustainable and healthy plumbing installations.
