Organization Affiliations

Council of Architecture (COA)

IPA has signed MoU with Council of Architecture on 13th May 2022 during the Plumbex at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Both IPA & COA have agreed to join hands to create common platform to share knowledge and help their members learn from Industry experts from both the fields viz. Architecture and Plumbing.

Currently, COA has 1,24,396 registered architects across the country and registry is approved by Government of India to regulate the architecture profession/community in India. There are about 471 institutions/colleges in India, which are imparting Architectural education leading to recognized qualifications and are affiliated and approved by COA.

IPA is developing a curriculum for the members of CoA on water & sanitation and good plumbing practices in reference to all relevant codes.

Institute of Architects (IIA)

IPA has signed an MoU with The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) on 1st December 2022 at Pune to join hands to exchange information on the latest developments in their respective areas that are of common interest, and jointly work in conducting programs to benefit the members of IIA & IPA, in building services and Plumbing industry.

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is the National body of Architects in the country. Established in 1917, the institute today has more than 25,000 members and plays a major role in promoting the profession of architecture by organising and uniting the Architects of India to promote aesthetic, scientific and practical efficiency of the profession both in Practice and in Education.

Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID)

IPA has signed a MoU with Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) on 5th June 2020 to exchange information on the latest developments in their respective areas that are of common interest and work jointly in conducting programs to benefit the Members of IIID & IPA in building service & plumbing industry. 

IIID was founded in 1972 to establish good professional & trade practices and ethics amongst its members and to highlight and enhance the image of the Interior Design Profession and exchange know‐how with similar organizations within the country & abroad.

IIID is a member of APSDA: Asia Pacific Space Designers Alliance. Today, with over 8,000 members in 31 chapters & centres across India, IIID is true representative of the Interior Design fraternity within the country as well as globally. IIID has well defined aims and objectives towards fulfilment of its duties towards the fraternity & profession and society at large.

Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI)

In order to spread awareness about good plumbing, IPA joined hands with CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India) and signed an MoU in July 2019 for sharing knowledge and interacting with CREDAI fraternity for achieving its goal of “Better and Safer Plumbing for Hygienic Living”.

The CREDAI is the apex body of private Real Estate developers in India, established in 1999, with a vision of transforming the landscape of Indian Real Estate industry and a mandate to pursue the cause of Housing and Habitat.

Today, CREDAI represents 13000+ Developers across 217 city chapters in 21 states and plays an important role in policy formulation by representing the views of its members to various Ministries at regular intervals.

National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO)

IPA has also signed an MoU with NAREDCO (National Real Estate Development Council) in January 2020 to disseminate knowledge to NAREDCO fraternity for ensuring better and safer plumbing in all real estate developments.

NAREDCO, established in 1998 under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, is the preeminent industry association for the real estate sector in India. Its primary objective is to provide a legitimate platform for the government, real estate industry, and the general public to address their concerns and find effective solutions to the challenges faced by the real estate sector.

With a membership base comprising over 5000+ members pan India with its State NAREDCO chapters, NAREDCO plays a crucial role in policy formulation by representing the viewpoints of its members to various ministries on a regular basis.

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE)

IPA signed MoU with ISHRAE on 3rd November 2020 virtually, to create a common platform to share knowledge and help each other’s members. 

Both associations have agreed to encourage their Chapters to organize joint programs with active participation on Jal Vayu Agni & Harit Jal Vayu.

IPA would also support ISHRAE on their program called URJAVARAN.  ISHRAE was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has over 28,780 HVAC&R professionals and Student-members. ISHRAE operates from over 44 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi

Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI)

IPA has signed an MoU with Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI) on 04th August 2020 for promoting each other’s events on respective websites, social media platform.

They have also agreed to continue holding Jal Vayu Agni programme in different Chapters. FSAI is a non-profit organization established in 2002 representing the Fire Protection, Life Safety, Security, Building Automation, Loss Prevention and Risk Management domains.

FSAI has 8500+ membership base which includes 7560+ members from Indian and global professionals (leading Architects, Consultants, End-users and Students) and 940+ Global and Indian corporates

NAREDCO Mahi (Women Wing of NAREDCO)

IPA has signed an MoU with NAREDCO Mahi on Friday the 12th May 2022 during the PlumbexIndia at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

They have agreed to jointly work on the Nirmal Jal Prayaas programme to achieve a saving of 500 crore liters of water per annum. IPA will train NAREDCO Mahi members and associates in Net Zero Water propagation.

In addition, IPA “Vanita” (Women Wing of IPA) and “NAREDCO Mahi” will jointly work on “Jeevit Jal” (giving life to water). NAREDCO established Mahi – NAREDCO Women’s Wing to empower women entrepreneurs and encouraging participation of women in the Real Estate Sector and Allied Fields. Mahi strives to create an environment where women in the Real Estate Sector can come together to share experiences, harness their skills, draw on their resources, influence, grow together and bring about lasting change.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)- Department of Higher Education, Government of India

Indian Plumbing Association has also signed an MoU with AICTE to introduce a four-credit course in Plumbing across engineering and architecture institutes. IPA has already submitted the draft curriculum which is being reviewed by the AICTE for further implementation. There are 10,372 All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved colleges/institues in India.

Confederation of Indian Industry -Indian Green Building Council (CII -IGBC)

IPA has signed an MoU to promote ‘Net Zero Energy, Water, Waste and Carbon’ in built environment. IGBC is the second largest green building council in the world having a green building footprint of 10.26 billion sqft.

The ‘Mission on Net Zero’ initiative of IGBC to encourage the industry and the stakeholders to design & construct all new buildings and built environment to become net zero by 2030 and all existing building to become near net zero by 2047.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

IPA National President Mr. Gurmit Singh Arora is now a member of CII National Committee on Water.

CII is the largest industry body of India which works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of industry in India, partnering industry and government alike through advisory and consultative processes.

SATSANG (Meeting of minds between design, construction and developer community)

Six organizations met with one idea each to script a Whitepaper to make a change.

IPA is one of the member of the alliance of six organizations to discuss the way forward for industry and welfare of society. Apart from Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), Indian Green Building Council (CII IGBC), Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI), Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) & Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI) are part of SATSANG.
